The friendly New Inn is a traditional country pub, tucked away in the village of Abthorpe just west of Towcester. The beers are from Hook Norton, one of the leading traditional brewers.
The pub is open every day in the evening and at lunchtime every day except Monday and Tuesday for drinks.
The kitchen is open serving food at lunchtime and in the evening from Wednesdays to Saturday and on Sundays at lunchtime. You can choose between the Bar Menu and the full Dinner Menu or see what is on offer on our Specials Board. On Sunday lunchtimes a traditional roast is offered. Please note that there will be a limited menu from 18th to 22nd January but the full menu will be offered again from Wednesday 25th.
If you like haggis, come along on 25th for Burns Night Supper - smoked salmon starter, Haggis, neeps and tatties as main course, followed by raspberry cranachan, all for £15. Booking advised.
We will be delighted to cater for special occasions whatever your needs, from birthday parties and family celebrations to sporting groups who want a full meal or ramblers just wanting a quick bite and somewhere to rest their legs. We can also provide a meeting venue with catering to meet your needs. We are happy to host group meetings or functions out of normal pub hours and we can also provide a bar and staff for outside functions. Please contact us in advance to discuss your requirements.
The Landlord, Rob Smith, also farms together with his family in the neighbouring village of Slapton and supplies some of the meat used in the restaurant. The farm also offers accommodation consisting of traditional B&B and Self Catering Studios. The accommodation is ideal for short breaks.
